my nem tank?

ok ive had a 100g cube (28.5 cubed) for a couple years and im thinking about turning it into an anemone tank.

so im not sure how to go about it. i know ill go with a 6"-8" sand bed and a bilevel aquascaping. kind of like the anemone tank in ultimate aquariums but on a much smaller scale.

ill most likely throw a couple seios or tunzes in the front corners. 10g sump with a coralife 125nw skimmer. likely an eheim pump for return.

i want to go with a 175w hamilton pendant but i know that limits my choice to which anemones i can keep. if i supplement with t5s will i increase my chances?

i currently have a blue haddoni but it will most likely stay in my reef. would i be able to keep an gigantea or sebea in this set up?

what else am i missing?

thanks for your input.

wow i must already be a pro and this is the perfect anemone tank;)

no but really. does anybody have any suggestions?

oh i did forget to add that the bilevel aquascaping is to hopefully keep a pair of seahorses in the lower portion. i want have various algeas along the bottom then up higher will be a ledge for the nem.

id forget the seahorses, nems love flow and seahorses dont, plus it will be hard to maintain a good food density for a seahorse.

it might be possible but i wouldnt risk the seahorses to getting stung or worse.

with a 175w you could definitely do a BTA.

ive got the horses and no place else to put them. it will be the girlfriends tank and she wants both horses and clowns so we're giving it a try. with the aquascaping i think i can make it work.

as far as anemones go, is the bta the only option? i was really hoping to be able to keep some kind of carpet. it will end up sitting about 10" to 16" below the surface and approximately 18" to 24" from the light.

well you could do a haddoni. only thing about carpets is they have a heavy sting and i can see one accidental touch turning deadly for the horse.

you have to remember that seahorses and anemones/clownfishes dont occur in the same part of reefs so they have completely different needs.

There is no way that you can have seahourse with anemone. The enviroment is too different. Seahorse requires still water becasue they are very weak swimmer while anemone require lot of flow. There is just no way any seahorse can live in a tank with "...a couple seios or tunzes in the front corners..." You are best not to try it because it will fail, bilevel or not.
Best to keep the seahorse in a nano cube like a Aquapod 24 with PC hood, and the anemone in the anemone cube. The price of this tank is essentially the same as a tunzel.

the seahorses would most likely be eaten... I agree if you really want to keep them go with an aquapod or one of the oceanic biocubes...
