My new 450 Gal "pail"

I would like to have my tank looking like that one day, all I can say is wow. Can you give me some input on your filtration and water movement.

Thanks rkaragozler. If you want it and you have the patient, you'll have your dream tank.
My filtration us based on a large cone skimmer with Laguna 7500 pump. It's a very strong skimmer, that allows me heavy bio load.

I have 3 filter socks to collect big particles (bigger than 200 micron) coming from the tank to the sump. I change them weekly.

Inside the tank I use 2 Tunze 6100 and 1 Tunze 6300 Turbelle pumps for wave making.
Few more internal pumps are used for water circulation plus 5 outlets coming from a Hammerhead Gold pump.

A big Bio Denitrator for Nitrate bio filtering, fed with 5 ml' of vodka daily.

Wow that is stunning and this is coming from someone who is not a huge sps fan! I like the way the colors and shapes come together in your tank. It's artistically pleasing to the eye. I'm very impressed.

Thanks Chihuahua6.
I don't think I'm not a big SPS fan. Actually I'm but I love the mix. I think the big variety of corals in the tank makes it more natural and interesting. In the past I had a SPS dominated tank and slowly I added LPS and soft. My tank is very high and anyway it's hard to grow SPS low on the rocks.

Just few updates:

I added few nice Maxima clams

And swapped my huge Sohal Tang with a small (baby) one.

I just read through this thread. Amazing! the tank is beautiful and very well thought out. I only hope mine will look 50% as good as this after a few more years time...

Thanks guys.

How did you catch your big sohal tang with all of those rocks? Great tank btw

I put some frozen fish food inside a trap. The "guy" entered immediately.
The new one is cute I must say.
I try to avoid big fish in the tank, so I can add more to the collection.

Can I ask what you fish count was in your previous 200 G tank. Your pictures looked great. I rarely see reefers that have so many corals, yet keep as many fish as you do. I have a 180 that I'm stocking right now, and as much as I love the corals, I love a tank with enough fish that it looks "lived in". I know every system is different, so what works for you may not work for me, I was just curious. That's an amazing tank you have now. Fantasic job!

Thanks all.

I had about 50-60 fish in my old tank. Good skimmer and filtration made it possible but don't take it as a recommendation.
I like variety of corals as I like fish and always tried to be on the edges of my system capabilities. The struggle against Phosphate is the toughest.
Today the size of my system\tank enables me much more and my tank is still ready and open to new comers.

Thanks. One more question, what was your total system volume on your previous setup? Thanks again.
