The skimmer has been doing a good job. I finally turned on the blueline pump to increase the imput to the skimmer. It had been running off the return only and now is being fed both from the return and the pump.Originally posted by cbui2
i agree that blue spotted is nice, and thats alot of crap going on in that tank, seen your skimmer you have is very nice...
Soon I hope..waiting for the water to stabilize a little more.Originally posted by Grunt
Great assortment of fish. I like the rabbitfish and leopard wrasse especially. Corals next?
CB..there is an advantage to having a long tank..plenty of room to feed, left, middle & right side. I'll bet you are oing to have the same problem I have in feeding..too much flow. I have to shut off the pumps to feed. Gives the fish a chance at the food rather than having it blow all over the place.. The flow even rips the Nori right out of the feeding clips. Wish someone would invent a throttle for pumps......Originally posted by cbui2
wow thats a big sohal, he looks mean. 4" not too bad but if it was bigger i dont think any fish will be able to eat when he comes around

It's easier just to hit the switches and shut them off. Only thing I don't like about doing this is that when the pumps are restarted, there are a lot of bubbles from the air in the lines that gets blown back into the tank. I've now found the best sequence to restart the pumps to keep it at a minimum.Originally posted by clekchau
can't you use your computer in "feed" mode to shut off the pumps and have them come on automatically in say 30 minutes?
i want a sohal really bad but i'm afraid it will bully all of my other fish even in a large tank, will probably settle for a dussimieri
My closed loop has 4 returns going into the tank, all with penductors on them. The loop is powered with BlueLine 100 pump. I think I could use this tank as a spa if I ever give up on fish keeping.....Originally posted by cbui2
tested my flows now and yes it is strong but with OM 4-ways give me them a chance to get the food, I didn't go with those penductors since those babies are really strong. i do have dead spots in the tank but i have also pointed the line in different areas to tweak it a little more. how many lines you have for CL and what pumps did you go with.
Thank you! The Clown is doing very well. My past experiences with Clown & Convict tangs told me not to get another one, but I was told that this one had been eating for several weeks. It is one of the first to the feeding clips and seems to eat everything else I throw in the tank. Knock on wood that this one will continue to do well as I think that they are a great looking fish.Originally posted by PiscesLou

If I had to choose between a Sohal or Dussimer, I would take the Dussimer first. What a friendly and smart fish. My Dussimer in my 470 eats out of my hand.
