Acanthurus fowleri.
He's about 9 or 10 inches. A big guy. The pics dont do him justice. Easily the most beautiful tang I've seen. I'll get better ones in a week or so once he's in my main tank. I'll upload them if its ok with you Goodwin9. He's been eating like a pig since I got him.

Both of the new tangs are out and about this morning and seem to be minding their own business, and it seems everyone else in the tank is accepting the new fish. 2 Black tangs, WOW, :eek1: that will be nice. Are they cheaper when you buy 2? I hate to admit what I paid for the one......and I thought that I got a deal.

I don't speak English
I wish that I had snails that looked like these. :eek1:

you probably do Chuck. Nerites, IMO, have the sweetest shell patterns. You can get quite a bit of variety out of the same gene pool. I love them because they stay small, work hard to clean the glass, and propagate within a captive reef.

I got my Black Tang for a real good price from 250G. I think he posted earlier in this forum about the lumenarc reflectors. He's working on getting me another so I can try again. Thanks 250G.
He runs this site for anyone interested in getting one:

Did you pick up the large one, or a smaller one? I was initially interested in the ones he had, but passed after I saw the combo price of shipping and the fish.

I got a large one. 8-9 inches. Biggest one I've ever seen. It was actually cheaper than the smaller ones. I guess smaller ones are harder to find. And he delivered it for free. (came over to see my tank LOL). I'd imagine shipping it out west would be costly though.

I've been told the same, a 2~3" is more expensive than 6"+. The one that I bought was listed as a large, and they had a show size for $30. more but I went with the large. It came from the X-Mas Isles.

Sometimes I'm really jealous of everything is available to you in the US.

Me too. You guys have access to alot more than we do.

Chuck, I think Nerite eggs hatch within a few days. No longer than a week, that's for sure.

They are beautiful, but you have to see them from the right angle. I took a picture of one I brought back from the coast last year.

I was told they are breeding with the scopas tangs and thus there are fewer small ones that are pure rostratums which makes them cost more. Maybe we shouldn't import the large ones to maintain a larger breeding population. But they sure look good in our tanks.

Really nice, I'll take a closer look, but I sure haven't seen any in my tanks that look like those. I must be buying seconds.....

I manages to get one picture of one of the Sunburst Anthias that arrived yesterday, couldn't find the other two. I did see the 3 flavoguttatus anthias hiding in the rocks, but wan't able to get a good picture.
