My New 675 Gal 6'X3'X5'

Ok.. So my wife and I have been working on our new house for 5 years now. We are two months away from moving in as long as my wife can decide on the granite in the kitchen and the plumping fixtures in the master bath and the paint colors and everything else that we have decided on five times and changed.
The aquarium is mine so it has not changed much"¦ except for its height and its height off the ground and size ect"¦..
So to fit with the millwork and look good, I decide on going with a tank that is 5' tall. It is going to be a pain to clean but it looks amazing empty, I cannot wait to see it up and running. All the equipment is 23' below in the basement so it is going to be a little harder on the electricity, I had a hub drain installed with an 8" curb around the equipment area so it should never be able to flood the house.
This is what I have decided at this point but nothing except the tank is purchased so I am open to suggestions.
Tank: TENCOR 6' X 3' X 5' approximately 675gallons
Stand: Tencor metal stand with poured in place concrete walls supporting on 3 sides
Skimmer: Reef Octopus FDNW 400
Chiller: EcoPlus 1 HP Chiller
Calcium Reactor: GEO Calcium Reactor 624
Lighting: 4X 400 watt Luman Max 2's with Galaxy electronic ballast 2X 10k XM's and 2 X 20k Radiums but open for suggestions
120 gal custom sump with Cheto and live rock
400 GPD RODI with level swith
300 gal mixing tank
Main Pump: Reflo Mantray (or maybe downsize to save energy)
Close loop: one Reflo DART pump
Controller: ???????? I have no clue
Budget: My wife went over hers by a factor of 1.5 (not kidding either) so I am home free

this is going to be a great build!
the thing is for a system the size of yours your only using a 1hp chiller?

As far as the chiller size goes, I am open for suggestions. The sump will be in the basement that is underground on three sides so I should stay relatively cool down there. Originally, I was thinking of connecting it to the central chiller system in the house that was unfeasible. The area around the tank has a large exhaust fan on it tied to a rheostat so the area around the tank will stay well exhausted but like I said I am open for suggestions.

Here is another pic of the room.

here is just an example im sure people in the know more then me will chime in and thats just fine but im just showing you what ive found:D
example this is for at least a 800 gallon system and you will have a 120 sump on top of this and its recommended you have a bigger chiller then you need so it isnt running non stop

It's nice to see something so unique. Is this going to be a reef tank? If so what type of corals are you planning? What fish are on your list?

I love how the tank and woodwork are integrated into the room. This is a very important design aspect to me.

I am in the process my third house build (last two custom, this one is semi-custom) so I would be very interested to see pics of the rest of your house, or at least the room where the tank will be housed.

this looks like it will be sweet!

this looks like it will be sweet!

I saw in your list of stuff you purchased the tank from tencor. I was thinking of ordering a 400gal tank from them. Would you recommend them or not?

Can't wait to see what your tank looks like when its done!

I will upload more pictures of the house this weekend. I am planning on making this a full reef tank. Due to the tanks depth, I am going with mostly soft and LPS corals. If the tank settles in well, I hope to be able to keeps some Monti plats higher up in the tank.
I am still undecided on the aquascaping"¦ I either want three larger pillars supported by PVC and Acrylic rods or two larger slopes with a winding sand channel in the middle. The only big issue is that Tencor only put one inflow and one outflow for the closed loop so I am going to have to get very creative with close looped plumping. I am of the opinion that any exposed power heads, overflows or plumping in the tank ruins the look"¦. But the more that I thing about it, to have a successful tank I am going to have to get over that. With three sides of the tank in absolute black, I should be able to hide a few Korla power heads without concern.
My stock list is lower than I think the tank can handle, but I would like to keep the system stable and not push it
Stock list:
1 X pair Cross hatch triggers (already own)
1 X New Calidonian (sp??) Imperator Angel
1 X Pair Maroon Clowns
4 X Square Back Anthias
3 X bimaculatus anthias
7 X Green Chromis
1 X Powder Blue tank
1 X Vlamingi Tang or Blond Naso ( if my tank is big enough)
2 horse shoe crabs
I also need something to eat algae. I am scared to death of hair algae after reading obiewanthegobie's thread. I may turn this into a huge Africa Cichlid tank if that happens to me.
GIANTS- Tencor is great. They are very good to me. I will say, with this economy, do not give anyone money upfront unless you can guarantee they can deliver (lost 8k with another well know company that went out of business) and don't be afraid to ask if it is their best price.
Two questions for you guys out there:
Is there a controller that can control a calcium reactor ie CO2 solenoid???
Should I upgrade my calcium reactor due to the problems Obiewanthegobie had with maintaining PH?

WOW!! triple post.
all controllers will control a calcium reactor. they just need to be equipped with a PH probe.
one thing that you can do is hook up an auxiliary electric CO2 solenoid. that way if one quits or malfunctions, you have a backup inline.
http://www.marinedepot.com/Replacem...Replacement_Parts-CO2-CO3171-FICORERP-vi.html

try that for an example.

also, some controllers will have the capability to have and monitor 2 ph probes. thats something to look into

Sorry about the triple post. After I post something, my computer does not pick up the post. I am actually in Texas today.
