Flightpipe

Sea Turtles Love Me......
I finally decided on some clowns and I pulled the trigger on a B&W pair of perculas

The lights are out now and they are still swimming around should they go to sleep?

The whole percula thing i though that B&W were occ. ?
I love em either way i hope the y will host my GBTA ;) sorry for the blurry pic

Nice clowns - they are occellaris, though, not percula. They'll eventually settle down, don't worry.

There are no black and white percs. Just occellaris. Yours look just like mine when mine were babies.

"The Black and White Ocellaris Clownfish, also known as the Black Perc, Black Percula Clown Anemonefish, or Black and White False Percula Clown and is normally found in association with anemones on the reefs of the Coral Sea." Live aqauaria

Seem they are kinda one in the same that is interesting i am gonna keep reading about it see it there is anything really of substance there. I guess people just call em both

Not sure what you're quoting from, but "Black perk" or "Black percula" are just common names that people have adopted because they look very similar to perculas. "False percula" is more accurate. Common names can be confusing.

Keep reading and I think you'll find that the correct scientific name for the fish you've got is occelaris.

In any event, the important part is that you've got a nice pair of fish. Enjoy.

Oh yea this is just for fun I LOVE THEM it was from live aquaria. com and when i bought them they showed my their supplier list i forget the name but they were labeled a b&w percs. I think people may like to just lik eot call em percs while others call em Occ.

I am happy either way i have been trying to decide on the clowns i wanted to weeks and I saw them and had to grab em so i am just happy i got through all the clown choices. they have not even looked at my GBTA so grrrrr idk maybe they will find it after a few weeks if not who knows

Captive bred clowns sometimes take longer to move into an anemone. Mine took a year (!), but they never leave now. Good luck!
