Got this one from LADD a couple weeks ago. Not sure it would survive...it had a hard time eating. It is VERY small. But now it eats spirulina flakes and NLS tiny pellets, so I'm hoping it will be fine, and I'll break the picture-of-a-fish-still-in-QT-curse that I've fallen victim to :D

Very nice get and a beautiful fish, looks like she has a nice full belly.

I love mine, it is my favorite pomacanthus for sure.

peter,

the picture of your old majestic back in the 90's.

i dunno if it's the oldness of the pic of what, but that butterfly to it's right looks odd.
don't you think so?

it's neither a "ulietensis", nor a falcula
and it doesnt apear to be an oxycephalus or a lineolatus. all four of which are very similar in appearance.

do you have two of these such butterflies then? or is it the same fish as the ulietensis at the 2nd photo, but showing some weird coloration for that moment, so much so that the first bar is faded. they can do that sometimes.

mystery of the 1990's butterflyfish!

It's just glare from the camera flash. It's a regular ulietensis... same fish in both pics.

i'm quite dissapointed :(

i wanted that ulietensis to be a special one!

pretty narvarchus btw! rarely do you see them with the juv colours. they morph vrey early!

I suppose I should have just lied to make your day a happier one :D :D

Yes, I always wanted to get a juvi colored navarchus, but I hate how tiny they have to be. Tiny angels scare me... they can starve so easily.

Nice pick up!! I had a juvi like that back in the late 80's also. Make sure to keep taking pics to record the transition to adult colors. It happens pretty fast.
