My new buddy - ruby red dragonet

For those successfully feeding Nutramar Ova and brine shrimp.

How are you feeding them? Turning the pumps off so the food settles on the bottom? Using a dispenser of some kind so the food isn't kating around the tank? Or do the fish come off the bottom to snag food in the water column?

Mine seems interested in food floating by, but doesn't go after it. I am fairly confident he has plenty of pods to eat but it would be great to see him eat some prepared food as well. Thanks.

Do you think I could add one of these to a tank with a mandarin goby? The goby has been in there for a couple of years now. The male died and she will not accept another male in her tank. That or the last male I got wasn't doing it for her.

I introduced my male to a male Synchiropus picturatus. The picturatus paid him no attention at all, no chase, bite, nip nothing. I am now working on pairing a female picturatus to my male which he showed much more aggression to, though it is snow subsided for the most part on day 3. Granted this is in a 180 with pod propogation fuge, ymmv in a different tank or with a different dragonet. I know Paul B keeps a scooter with his paired splendidus without issue as well.

I would be ready to remove if aggression got too severe, definitely want to time the introduction for when you are able to monitor for a few days to be safe.

I turn off my power heads but keep pumps on. My picturatus and sp. both come up in the water column and feed. They both take pe mysis right from the turkey baster. I only used brine shrimp until they were big enough to consume the pe mysis. Another option is a feeder, Paul B has great success with one he put together, check out his thread on it here: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2166449&highlight=feeder

Does anyone have a ruby red dragonet in the same tank with a green mandarin dragonet? And if so do they get along?
