Figured I'd pass it on as a lesson at my expense to other reef noobs. I just lost ALL my fish in lest than 48hrs to marine velvet. It wasn't a lot of expensive fish or anything but it still sucks. I could have easily avoided the mass deaths with a proper quarantine tank. Lesson learned...

How long should I go without fish to make sure it's out of the DT?

Although Velvet and Ich are two different beasts, I waited 8 weeks when I had an ich outbreak a good 6 years ago. Had 2 of 8 fish survive that ich outbreak . One survivor is still with me though
