My new fancy mushrooms!

My fancy mushrooms (Actinodiscus sp.) arrived today in Seattle from Wisconsin. (LiveAquaria)

The shipping water was very cold and I took two hours to drip them carefully. When first placed in the tank, they started to open nicely and after a few hours started again to retract as shown on the picture below:

Questions:

Am I worrying too much?

There is stronger than moderate current in this part of the tank. Should I try to find them a quieter spot?

I paid $69 for this rock. Good deal?

Thank you.

Just give it time. They will let you know if they are unhappy. They will most likely be fine. FWIW, a good deal is if you are willing to pay for them. $70 in my book is too expensive for that because I can pay about $5/each for them, but that's just me. I love my blue stripes though and I would pay more for them if need be.

I agree, just give them time. Corals (and corallimorphs) can handle a larger short-term variance in temperatures than most people realize.

If they still look like that in a couple weeks move them to an area with lower flow and less light and see how they do there for a couple weeks.
