Was very happy to find this little fella today. So this is him before i pop him in my nano. Its "tiny" so will have fun trying to spot it.

These fish are so incredible... I could't resist getting one the first time I saw it. That was about 15 months ago. I saw it a couple times after I put it in the tank and then once about 6 months ago but not since then :( Shoulda known a 100g tank offers too many hiding places.
I was on the verge of setting up a nano just for this fish :p
Congrats. I hope you get lots of pics :D

He has gone into a 24g nano. So hopefully ill see him. Only problem is its a bow front so taking pictures is a pain in the ***

Yeah beautiful fish.

Hmmm.. I kind of want a tank that is so big I don't see my fish for a few years. I don't have that problem yet!

How long is he? Everything I can find says .5-1", but in every photo I can find (including yours), he looks longer.

Its about 3/4" maybe a little less. Looks big in the pics but i was up close with a macro lens. The detail around the head is hard to see with your eye unless your up very close.

That fish is awesome!!!!!!!!!
Are they super secretive?
A guy in my local club won one from the LFS hosting a meeting a while back and he says that he rarely sees it even in his 20g. I'd say it definitely should be in a nano or you'd never see it.

I have one in a 5 gallon pico w/ only two small rocks. I catch a fleeting glimpse of him every three weeks or so. They are beautiful fish ... just wish they'd come out more.

wow, that is an absolutely gorgeous fish! Never seen one for real here in France. You guys are so lucky to get fishes like this. For example, I love the candy basslet as well, and never had a chance to see one for real here... What a shame!!! I'd love so mush to have psychedelic tresures like this in my tank!
