My New Golden Angel

Its been a week and a half since I have had my golden angel so I thought I would share some pics and vids.

Yes I got "him" (its been along for a while) from another member, doggydoc, and I couldn't be happier. Reef hot spot had them on sale also so I ordered another which was suppose to be here tomorrow, but got delayed because they called and said that fish wasn't up to snuff so I should have a mate by next thursday, which worked out good because of some personal issues. I was very pleased with that customer service! So will also update on the pairing too!

Also this one is a darker specimen and the face is the coolest thing!! I couldn't be happier.

Apparently this guy has been in captivity for almost 3 years and I am the third owner! But yes this fish gobbles down mysis like crazy. It wouldn't eat nori or spectrum pellets but thats ok it is very healthy. I hope the next one is this healthy.

I got mine from rhs. love these little guys, been thinking of trying to pair mine, have gone as far as contacting rhs asking about size, but have never pulled the trigger. congrads on the capture, hope your rhs one works out as well as mine has! (his two year purchase bday just passed)

Thats what I like to hear!!! Plus I think it is awesome they called to tell me the condition of the fish and that it would not be shipping and asked what I wanted to do.

Well this will have to be put on hold now. I still have the one above doing amazing!! BUT I was waiting and waiting for my call from RHS about the fish they were getting in and I didn't get an email that it had shipped and I figured it was getting a little late even though they are on the West Coast, so I called them and the fish they got in recently they weren't comfortable shipping.

So currently I am on a backorder list for this fish when it comes in, an email list for this fish when it comes in, and I will have to option to repurchase this fish for the same price at a later date (right now I have a refund). They said that if the two fish they have now become ready to ship it probably won't be for 4-5 days minimum and they should have new stock in either this weekend or next.

I just need to be patient.... which can be hard sometimes.

I didn't realize the goldens would do well in pairs?

I had one in my last reef, but it never accepted mysis and eventually got "lost" in the tank.

Wonderful fish, but I'm leery about trying one again.

Congrats on the golden. They're one of my favorite fish, although sadly seem to be cyanide caught pretty often. The last one I kept for a few years until I sold that tank. I lost her during the tank breakdown (my fault) and I thought I wouldn't try again... until a few months ago I found a very healthy and super fat one from a local reefer breaking down his tank.

Buying them "used" is prudent.
