My New Little Guy

Had to replace my purple longfin Wrasse that jumped. Found this little guy at Jofish. Its a juvinile male Melanuras Wrasse

Picture is all blown out but the fish shows up well.

Thx Luis, Tom and Jeff. I just hope he's a good hunter he's replacing my #1 coral checker. So far hes eating everything I throw in the tank including flake food.

Very nice fish, how big will it get?

Probably about 5-6 inches.

nice I also have one he amazingly dives into and swims through sand bed bursts back out as much as 18" away.

Nice fish Grant. I just picked up the same one at fishpro today. I acclimated him tonight, and I put him in the tank, then haven't seen him since. I'm guessing that he's just hiding. Did yours do that?

Oh yah, they canbury themselves for a couple of days sometimes. They can also be a bit jetlagged and take a while to get used to when daylight actually is.

Yes it was a cool fish. I would rather get rid of the mystery wrasse because after being a model citizen for a number of years he also now will not allow any shrimp in the tank either. Problem is the tank is totally grown in with acros and I cant fit my trap in anymore or net the little beasty.

I would train your fish to feed in the fish trap, then about 1-2 weeks later close it, when the opportunity arrises. :fish1:
