I got this guy a couple of days ago at a LFS...he was on death row and I couldn't pass it up! He's now in his own 5 gal with some LR and seems to be comfortable.
So I know it's a stompy mantis...but what kind is it? It's about 1.5 inches and reddish all over with bluegreen stripes across the body and outlining everything. It seems to be fairly "docile" for the moment but that could be because it's so small and in a new environment

I know the picture isn't that good...I'm still trying to figure out this newfangled digital camera. I can't seem to get it to take decent closeups. It'll focus great for a split second then go to nice and fuzzy...guess I'll keep reading the manual.
