Okay, so I picked up an acrylic tank. It is made out of 5/16" acrylic and measures 24"L x 6.7"W x 7.9"H. By my calculations, that is roughly 5 gallons. This tank is pretty sweet. The front has curved corners and the acrylic work is very nice.
I picked up a 24" Current USA light for it that has one 65W PC. I wanted to run a little more but due to the width, two would not fit. Also, I like the look of open top so a hood is out of the question. And a halide wouldn't work because there would be too much light spread wasted due to the width.
I am trying to figure out what filter to use, what pumps and so on. It really cant have a filter below the tank because it will be on a night stand. I am thinking of putting a small closed loop on the tank, any ideas on what pump to run? I was also considering a small hob filter but due to the height, I don't know of one that will fit it.
Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks!
Mike
