Now to see if they'll get in one of these nems...

I love them!

Ah, I thought they were Ocellaris. Glad to know it and yes that picture is of a very black phase Ocellaris.

That's sad that they were sold as something they're not. :hammer:

Where were they purchased?

I think they are awesome too and I'm still wondering if they are a hybrid. My original two clowns, which I had for 12 years were Rod's perculas bought locally at Premium Aquatics. So I've owned Rod's fish before for sure.

This pair came from someone I trust quite a lot and who I've been dealing with for at least 15 years. They came out of a customers tank who was trading them in as part of a deal for some picassos. There's a pretty good paper trail showing that at least one of their parents was a Rod's onyx, but it's possible the other parent was an ocellaris, making them a hybrid.

But whatever they are, I think they're gorgeous and were exactly the sort of coloration I was looking for. In the tank they came out of, they were in a BTA. So far in mine, they are completely ignoring the BTAs, but clownfish are fickle, no matter what kind they are. And these particular ones might have an identity complex if they are indeed hybrids.

Still welcome additional discussion and opinions, I'm a geek like that :)

There are 4 different BTAs in the tank and this pair is completely uninterested in any of them. Little brats.
