My new Peacock and Shell Disease questions

well i finally got a peacock mantis (like the subject suggests) and he/she, (can't tell) is doing well! but at the LFS there was another peacock mantis abt twice his size, but i didn't buy him because there were large white patches on his back, and slightly orange spots on his head. Are these signs of shell disease?

well, i can never use the search engine, it's always busy! and google images has nothing! at least on stomatopod shell disease

I just tried the search engine in ReefCentral and had no problem turning up dozens of posts about shell disease. On an Odontodactylus scyllarus, the spots are usually a rusty orange although if things get really bad and the cuticle is penetrated, black wounds form.

the search never works for me either , which is why i do it via google like the link i posted.

however, the other thing you can do is sort the forum by topic and go to the S's , O's and P's to find related topics...
