My new red S. Haddoni!!!!

It is ticked off about something.

How long was it between the blue one being pulled and this one going into the tank? Worried that whatever "infection" that the blue one had could have seen being lingering. I have no idea if that is even possible, but you never know.

When the foot of the anemone is inflated, it's on the run!
I'm sorry to say that the anemone does not look to be in good shape. Does it get direct flow or something? Haddoni hate direct flow and tend to like the gentle lagoon flow. If you have the room, I would build a rock cove and place the anemone in the middle around the rock. This configuration helps me get all of my sand dwelling anemone to stay put. I've kept Sabae, green haddoni, stripe haddoni, and now the red haddoni in the same place.

Very good point Todd. I've been following his blue carpet thread and now this thread and I don't believe it was more than a week before the introductory of this new one.

The current tank is an upgrade 5 months ago. Everything transferred over fine including acros, rbta, cocoworms, etc. Half the rock I used was new reefsaver's baserock and the other half was my old liverock. I wanted to redo the scrap.

Not trying to get you down or anything but this is not an ideal situation..

I am not one to set a limit on tank maturity for having an anemone. I more just go by the look of the tank, when there is a good population of different types of algae and bacteria it is usually all set.

Your tank still looks like there is a lot of colonization that is still occurring.

You could be right. I waited to get the haddoni until everything appeared stable and my other corals looked to be doing well. Maybe it wasn't time yet. Tank water parameters have been stable for a while now though. Hopefully he can come back, whatever issue is going on right now. He hasn't started the 'death' cycle yet and stomach isn't protruding.

Hmm I think it could have been the water change I did on Wednesday. I changed salts for the first time in 6 months. I just read someone else changed salts three times and their haddonis moved around a lot after each change of salt brands. They apparently never moved before the salt changes.

I have heard that SOME(not all) people have had issues with mixing hoddonis and BTAs. And maybe TODD can chime in here, but you may have a bit of chemical warfare going on aswell that you cannot see. Just something to consider.

He's doing good. I'll post a pic later this week when I have time. Gonna be busy for the 4th of July.

I think it was the change in salt that ticked him. After I did a water change going back to the old salt, he attached to the bottom of the glass again.

BTW, im planning out a 120G tank upgrade from my current 60G.. hopefully all can transition over without dying :)

How is the red haddoni doing?

Hi guys, been busy with a tank upgrade. I had to build a stand. Anyway, tank is up and equipment is dialed in. I moved the red guy over there. He's doing great so far:
