I've had 2 for a little over a week now. The LFS had saved me a pair over christmas sale craziness, and believed them to be a male and female. They picked on each other a little in the beginning but are now getting along well.
I was worried that maybe they were only eating pods, but I saw one eating mysis the other day, thank goodness. Will post pics when i can get one - mine are pretty small. But awesome little fish :)

I got one a week ago, have not seen it since but I have alot of rock in my tank.
They are neat fish if you find an honest LFS to buy from so you do not over pay.

I'm honestly stuck between getting a pair of these beauties or the equally beautiful (in my eyes at least) moyer's dragonets. I might have to break down and get a pair of both for different tanks. You have a nice looking specimen, looks like a male?

I grabbed one of these beautiful little fish from my LFS on sale for 40$ hes a small little guy but very cute and stays in view 95% of the time =) couldnt be happier. Feeding on live and frozen brine for me.

Seen quite a few of these for sale lately. Most only eat or show any interest in living food items so you are lucky if you get it to eat anything frozen. They are being collected in the Phillipines. Here in the UK they are quite a new fish so no longterm stories of keeping them. They are also collected from quite deep waters so may need cool water conditions.

They are quite common in my country. LFS sells them at around $10 each which is about US$8. They are imported by the bucket loads since last month. Really nice fish, but I haven't got one because I'm not sure if I have enough pods in my tank.

Beautiful fish, I too have been seeing a lot of pics of these lately.
I wonder if anyone has had them mixed w/ any green or red mandarin's?
I'm curious if there are any issues in them getting along.

Very nice, mine eats frozen too, always in view too. I really enjoy this fish.

I had my Green Mandarin about 3 months. I added a ruby red dragonet a month ago. They were only eating pods and have shown no aggression.

I guess this is the new IT fish at the moment. They are popping up everywhere. I think they would look awesome in a Nano tank. I dont think you would ever see them in a larger tank since they are so tiny.

Mane is always out in my 120 display. Loves to hunt pods on rock and sand.

I just got mine tonight from my LFS. Within 5 minutes of getting into the tank, she is already grazing for pods on the sand. She also likes staying at the front of the tank and does not seem to be scared of anyone :) Hopefully she starts eating frozen food soon. Until then I'll be getting some Reef Stew.

By the way, does anyone know how to differentiate a male from a female?

Thanks for that info, and beautiful fish!
So not knowing much about these guys I'm going to assume same as a mandarin in need of pods and LR/tank space/fuge to provide those pods.
