My New SPS Reef

One good aspect concerning plastic/resin rocks is that they are very light weight. So you can easily lift or shift the rocks in order to clean it around.

Man that clean white bottom is a very cool look.

Looks like it will be a lot of work to keep it that clean.

Your tank looks so clean, it almost looks like a cartoon.

Wow!

I know it is recent, but as has been maintaining the bottom of acrylic? some coraline algae was born? had to shave? scratched? What can you tell me? I'm planning my new reef and looking for the ideal.

best regards!

I clean every weekend with a toothbrush, very easy to clean and the acrylic is still white

I think coraline algae doesn´t like ULNS, they never appear here

best regards

Have you ever let it go longer between cleanings? Mine seems to like being 3 days without cleaning the best. It always takes at least 24hrs to start getting dark again after cleaning and I just use paper towels to wipe it clean so I dont get any skin oils on it or tap water...Just wondering if you could make it more efficient that way.

Hi Cris,

I don´t have this problem here with my bk 180.

Just after the cleaning my bk is doing a great foam again

Best Regards

Denadai

That's amazing clean bottom. Mine here, despite the undetectable anything (PO4, NO3) 50 days after changing to BB with starboard, are almost complete covered with coraline algae.

You think I should clean the bottom ?

Anyway, I love the white visual but I do love my "pink" bottom too.

Finally I finished this huge thread!!!

Congratulations to Denadai!!! Your reef is outstanding!!!

The colors are amazing, the white acrylic and the minimalist landscape gives a ultra clean apperance and enhance the beauty of the corals.

As I expect...

Denadai is a completely obsessed reefer. He is ever trying to improve the colors of the sps (doesn´t matter how good is it), always trying to push the envelope. He is one of the best reefers here in Brazil and his tanks are always figuring between the best.

Once again...congratulations my friend!:fun2:

Hi Stuginski,

Thank you !!

My artificial rocks are still very clean and algae free. I think this is a good solution for a lot of guys that had / have problems with algae, aiptasia, mojanos and etc...etc

Hello Denadai,

First of all, briliant ide with plastic rocks! I did not know they excisted until i saw your tank.
I am a BB fan, and i have now replaced all live rock with plastic rocks. (2 weeks ago)

But after that, my skimmer has stoped working. Did that happen to you too?

No more foam in the skimmer, no detritus in the tank. It seems like the live rock produced most of the dirt in the tank. a lot more than the fish do.

What is your bulb combo? Also what are you dosing and how much? What do you keep your parameters at? What salt? BTW your tank is awesome! Such an inspiration!

Thanks
