I found the baggy itcame in and it had the word "LOBO" written on it but when I do a search on lobo coral it brings up brain coral wich doesn't quite look like this.

I was sitting by his wife when you bought it. We were at the NARC Table. You bought it from H@RRY at [Aalabama reefers]. I got mine from him too. He calles it a LOBOphillia ....not sure of the spelling. Great Coral!

I think is a real nice piece but when I looked up Lobophylia to try to find out how to best care for it. All I get are brain coral. Wich I guess it could be (just dosn't look the same as what I see online).

H@RRY and his wife were verry nice and she said she thought it to be rare. I just don't want it to die on me.:)

If it keeps eating like that, I don't think you have to worry :D

I got mine in July, I think, and it is doing fine.

Yes Rev, it is a Lobophylia. They are a type of brain. We have had that coral for probably 5 - 6 years. It is a medium growth coral that is not very light demanding (although it can tolerate a lot of light). It is a LPS and it's growth pattern is very similar to a torch or frogspawn. After it branchs off the lower part of the skeleton (below the flesh) becomes very brittle and is easily broken. This allows for multiple frags. I usually have 1 or 2 of the frags like you got every 6 months. So far I have not seen anyone else that has that particular one. I got it from a guy who bought a shipment of corals from a diver in the south Pacific and had them flown in. (That's what he told me.) Hope you enjoy it. It's been very hardy for me.
