My new tank ADA 120p Vertical Gyre Style

Here it is all switched over from a planted tank. I have 3 koralia 4s creating the laminar flow. The tank is 48x18x18. I am getting flow that takes about 7 seconds from one end to the other of the tank. What do you guys think of the set up? I know a lot of you are against using overflow boxes (I have a aqualifter on the overflow box), but I did not want to risk drilling this tank b/c it is rimless. Also sorry for the cloudy water, I just added the salt directly to the tank.

Any way you can drop the water level a bit? That may be running a bit too close to the edge once you put high flow.

Its about 67 or so. Actual dimensions is in centimeters. Its 120cm x 45cm x 45cm. Thanks the rock work took a while, haha. I had to epoxie some of the rocks together to get it to be more stable.

Nuuze I can drop it, I do have all the powerheads on though. haha

Thanks jkreefer, its been a while coming. I love the tank too.

Looking good! It took 5 of us (planted guys) to clean up his tank and help him set this up :) Can't wait to see the tank when the livestocks go in. I am still waiting on my 50 gallons.

Yes it did, haha. Thanks to everyone that helped me (its not like many of them will be reading this though, LOL).

Ian if you can do 1/10 in salt that you do in planted fw, this will be incredible!!! I"m starting a nano, hopefully for dwarf seahorses and it is a different world. I am still struggling.. :)

Thanks Sherry, BTW I pmed you about the matto grosso a while back and never got a response. I got rid of all of them now :(. If you still want one I could tell my friend to send one to you once he grows them out.

Elite I was talking to Norman about that very point he felt that it wasn't necessary for me to round the corners. I am actually getting pretty good flow with the setup. I told him what kind of flow I was getting based on particle movement. He said the flow sounds pretty ideal.

Sound good :)
You might want to replace the clear tubing though. Algae will grow pretty fast in those clear tubes :).

lights are all on Doug. I had to turn down the exposure to stop everything from blowing out. haha

Yeah that is something to think about. Plus the clear tubing is not the easiest to work with. lol

Bill bent a black acrylic U to brace the box right over the glass. The force is up and down over the glass so no brace is needed from the bottom. Seems like it is working well.

Nice stuff! Planning on putting a background on or no? Seems kind of ironic that you are a dentist and got an ADA tank haha. I didn't know Sullivan-Schein was selling tanks now! ;)

My only suggestion would be if you could replace the white PVC return with a black one as to match the rest of the hardware.

LOL, I got the dentist discount. JK. One more thing that I forgot to add, I also drilled holes for frag plugs all over the rock work. Not sure how well it will work but it was worth a try.
