My new tank is in (the garage)

Ken, unrelated, but do you know the address to Tat's shop in T.O.? I found three different addresses listed on RC. I'm making the LFS tour this weekend... :D They open sundays?

96x48x24 eurobraced 1-1/4" complete, I should be picking up the 4x4x1/4" steel this week, i figure I should be able to use it as a tornado shelter if need be, hell what am I talking about I am in Tornado Alley, it is just a matter of time!!!!!!!!!

Lar's, I have it in my book as:

Tat Tropical Illusion
(805)495-3220
1374 Moorpark Road
Thousand Oaks, CA 91360

It's in the back corner of the shopping area.

Brent, all you need to do is box it in with diamond plate! Do they have a local Line-x dealer :D
That tank is going to be huge, 480 gallons! Did you bring enough salt? ;)

Decided to open up the bins that have been cooking my rock since November and see what I could build.

Came up with a few ideas:

Large pillar front

Large pillar back

I really need to put something next to these for reference, this has about a 3' base, and is 20" tall.

Branch rock front

Branch rock back

Small rubble for the bottom of the tank

SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!!
I am probably going to just use the DIY kits at the store, I am going to weld it in the room that it is going in since the weight will be killer to be moving around, and probably wont fit through any door. I am going with a 48" height stand also and 48" deep, try moving that around, the steel will be 1/4" also.
I will post some pics I took this evening in a different thread.
See Ya!!

Brent, does it really need to be 1/4 tubing? I would think that the normal 1/8 would be fine. You planning on dropping a house on it

Man, I wish I would have taken the tank full of rock you left behind, I could have added it to my rubble bottom.

Very Nice Ken. Cant wait to see that bad boy filled up with marine life.

Maybe well have our tanks up and running at the same time? Damn rain delayed me big time.

Are you going BB or are u gonna have a SB on there? Not LR bottom right?

Keep us updated!

Sam:D

I am having a 4-5" lip that extends throught the wall to make the tank flush with the other side, so the tanks and stand will not be resting on the wall at all, everything free standing!!!

Rubble bottom!

tomkb, my stand is 40" tall.
It's very tall, and makes it so you don't have to bend over to look at the tank, and gives you plenty of room to work on things under the tank.

c'mon ken get that thing online!

Hey, I don't remember you being any faster in filling up that monster of yours:lol:.

Started the Closed loop plumbing. It's all just fitted together, not glued yet. I hope to get the return plumbing done tomorrow, then plumb in the pumps and glue things together on Friday.
