I cured 'em for like a month. No brown algae blooms. I'm fighting an ulva and hair algae bloom now, but that's from my little "hiccup" that nearly wiped out my tank.

what are you doing to fight it chuck? i have a similar problem...

...and the end of death in the tank.
This doesn't sound good :(

Well, after two days of filling with RO/DI, the tank is full. Mixing salt in tonight (just worked a 16 hour day) and hopefully start adding rock tomorrow.

Lar's, where are you moving to, how much stuff, and how long?

I had a temp spike when I was out of town for 10 days. Came back to very, very sick fishies. Lots of death. Things are better now, but I was searching for dead bodies for a long time.

other direction. Remember towards the end of Feb when it was really cold? Almost all the angels died. Quite ugly really.

So you had a temp dip then ??

Sorry to here that Chuck. Yes, I remember the last few weeks (before the rain) were very cold, I've never had to use a heater before and scrambled to find one. I'm thinking of getting a finnex heater because of that now.

OK, I'm almost finished! Here is what I have so far. Trying to photograph a large tank is a new experience for me. It's hard to show the depth to the tank, and these pictures don't do it justice.

Left side, the branch rock comes out and makes a branch forest:

Middle of the tank, large pillar on the left with a nice multi level shelf. Smaller pillars on the right.

Right side with last pillar and reef ceramic back.

An the whole thing.

I still need to add the rubble bottom, and add the zoos that I have, but I'm pretty happy with it so far.

:D Something like that!

I'm going to cover the bottom with small, thin branch rock for small fish to hide in, and with zoos.

It was hard remembering that when coral grows, there needs to be space. The pillars look thin and sparse, but when they grow out, I think that they will look great.

Wow! your tank will be the first with a zoo bottom:D

ANEMONE aka Kevin has a GSP bottom...

But a rubble zoo bottom thats a 1st! Very cool....Well my tank is almost done, Im planning my aquascaping as I type..

No, I've seen zoo bottoms before, Dave Botwin's (O2manyfish) tank is that way, that's where I got the idea. Now rubble bottoms, the first I heard of one was from Scott Fellman, so I thought I would mix the two. I like different ideas.

WoW Ken! I especialy like the branch forest. Nice job on the pillars too. A great use of space, not too much, not too little, and a perfect mix of open areas. I am looking forward to seeing what you have planned for the bottom.

OK, here are a few pictures of the tank lit up, plus I added the livestock that I have been holding for months. I'm using my old ROIII until I have time to wire up my new lighting fixture. Bulbs are 14k.

Very beautiful Ken, nice job on the aquascaping. I be that huge red sea sailfin tang is loving the open layout of the tank. My poor Vlamingi is hating life in the sump.
