My new wrasse

You know, there are many different methods on this and beliefs. I personally do not like to acclimate my fish for long periods of time. Wrasses especially fairy like the one your getting quickly or almost instantaneously will dive into your rocks and seek shelter and hide from 1 hour to a week...
I've seen many different fish do different things. I do have a qt tank, and believe in qt most species. Fairy wrasses are one of them. They are not good shippers.... You need a stress free environment when they come in after that 12-18 hour journey...

Also think about where these fish are coming from. The Labouti (I have one too :)... ) and Lineatus are coming from Austrullia half way around the world, prolly packed in a tiny little bag with almost no water, then go through wholesale distribution, then those pricey fish are swooped up quickly for demand and shipped again somewhere else...

What has been thye problem with them shipping recently?

How do you recommend acclimating? LA suggests 15 min in the tank in the bag, and then adding the contents in a separate bucket and drip acclimating for an hour; then dumping out 1/2 of the water and continue drip acclimating for another hour. I have read in another thread that the fish should not sit in that water it was shipped in for that long. I did follow these instructions with the Labouti Wrasse and he is doing great. Thoughts on how to best acclimate hm when he arrives?

I've lost 2 lineatus wrasses to swim bladder issues. Because they're a deep water fish, they sometimes have issues with their swim bladders because they're not decompressed properly. Considering your specimen is coming from DD, hopefully it's been with them for a month or so.

I love the labouti wrasse. Mine is crazy. He will do anything for food. He's jump right into my 8oz cup while i feed and you would see his tail hanging out the cup. will even eat off my hand and will even let me touch him while i work in my tank. If i'm putting a new frag in the tank he's swimming all on my hand.
