Hey,

I been working on my newest tank. Its an 5.5gal cube with an 5.5gal sump. coral life superskimmer65 and 10lbs LR in tank and 5 in sump. Some macro and an 1'' sandbed. Now the hard thing to pick is lights. right now i have an 2 9watt PC till i pick. What do you think is better for zoas. 36watts of PC or an 70watt MH. It will hold frags from my 55gal witch is 2 175watt MH. The zoas are RPE's, PPE's, zombie eyes, dragon eyes, pinks, fire and ice and a armageddon frag. Thanks for your help and have a great day.

P.S ill get pics up when everything is in the tank.

why are you doing a 5.5g nano? why not a 10g? or at least a 12g nanocube thingy.

i'd be concerned about putting such highly prized frags in such a small tank, since tanks that small have a knack for many problems that are not easily corrected. (like heat, cycling issues, if something dies etc etc).

if this is for an office or something, why not just go with a nanocube type thing?

that, and it doesnt really make sense to be putting the CSS65 on barely a 10g water volume. i wouldnt even put any fish in a tank that small. (maybe a single clown or neon goby).

you sound like you got a good handle on how to do things, so why not just get a larger tank so you can get that MH light, and put that skimmer to use w/ a bigger bioload?

no its for my room. I have an 18gal cube i could use. its 15x15x15'' but with an fake back wall so its 13'' deep and has a built in skimmer. So i could use that. Its just hard to find lighting for it. since the canopys black acrylic and so is the stand. the canopys only 4'' over the water. I have an old pic when my mantis was in it.
