Can you see the ceiling fan blade reflection in the spectral aluminum?

Looks like a nice challenge. Just out of curiosity, what are you planning to make your cuts with? That pattern looks almost too intricate for a standard pair of shears.

The dashes are the bend lines. It's large, so I don't expect any problems cutting with shears. I have "access" to some nice cutting shears and bending equipment. We do clean shear cuts on metal 3 times this thick in the shop.

checkinhawk...no luck required...just skill...lmao!!!

you know what i mean :D

The reflective capabilities of spectral aluminum are very impressive.

I look forward to seeing the finished product.

OK would you explain what the hell all that is to this nub! I see the ballast and know it's for a light. Is this a kit or all DIY? What is that shiny stuff (for the reflectors?) and where did you buy it and what does it cost? I need to make several simplistic ones for school tanks. I have bulbs and ballasts for a few (PC's), but need those little clippy things to put the lights in and the rubber band things and reflectors!!

So please, WHAT IS IT ALL??? Thanks.... :D :D or do I have to wait for the surprise??? I hate waiting....

Good luck!

Ladyfsu, the paper is a pattern for a metal halide reflector. You cut the pattern out and transfer it to the metal (spectral aluminum). It makes a 14 inch square, 6 inch deep reflector. The white metal parts are an adjustable mogul socket for the bulb. It mounts outside the reflector with the bulb going through a hole to the inside of the reflector. It's adjustable so you can center the MH bulb for best reflectivity.
