My now BRAND NEW 120g Build!

WOW nice job. Everything looks great.
What kind of pumps are you going to use for your return and close-loop?
Thanks,
D

Return pump i have absolutely no idea yet. I have a 5' head, so I need something at around 1200 gph at 5' and due to space constraints will probably need to be in sump.

My closed loop I am working on trying to find the logistics out on it before i purchase the stuff. I want to go with an OM 4 way(ver 3) with a Dart Gold(3800gph and less watts and quieter than regular). My only concern with going with closed loop is i want to make sure i can get flow throughout the whole tank and not sure on best places to have returns on it run over the top. My thought was 2 ran to opposite front top corners and the other 2 ran over the back down the inside(would use the gray pvc here to hide a little) covered by sand at bottom and run up into the middle on each side. Than use loc line to adjust flow in any direction thats needed. I am concerned doing this i may have some dead spots that i want to avoid.

So I have actually been debating going with 4 Tunze 6055's on a Multicontroller so flow can be a bit more controlled.

Would love to hear other peoples opinions on flow for this size/style of tank.

Im pretty new to all this so any advice is greatly appreciated. If someone experienced in closed loops and plumping for sps tanks is willing to come take a look at it next sunday and maybe give some ideas, I am sure I can have a few cold ones waiting! :)

The 3rd option for flow would be to go with 2 6101 Tunzes with the Controller, but again I am concerned about getting them aimed right to have no dead spots. Anyone out there running a 120, whats working for you?

Couple updated canopy pictures, trim work should get done tomorrow!

Thanks man...im pretty happy with how it came out...just started grabbing pieces out of the big tank in the garage and it fell together pretty good. Fish seeming to like to like the nice mix of caves and ledges and the open swimming space.

hahahha she looks ready to pass out...

Thank you for sharing this! I just got a new to me 125 with the same dimensions and am building a stand soon. i have dabbled in building stands before and have successfully made two, but only for 55-75 gallon tanks. the 125 makes me nervous as i am new to woodworking and want to keep the water in the tank and the tank on the stand lol

That's the standard accepted strong DIY stand design. Here's a thread with guidelines:
