My OCD doesn't work with aquascape

Not sure I am fully joy with this. Maybe I could get a 2nd, 3rd or 12th opinion?

I agree the power heads are all over the place. I would put some on the back wall and keep them at the same level

i agree there and they are actually not on. still trying to dial in the flow. just hadn't moved them yet, or whether i even need them.

its a 75 gallon tank and the heads are moving about 530 gph each. i just added another 20 lbs of Pukani last week.

trying to keep the dust storms down, but be able to move the detritus.

I honestly like the look of the tank! I dont mind power heads, if they are there to do a job It does not bother me. My fiance agrees with the posts above that you should hide the equipment. To me, if it serves a purpose and has to be there no worries. The rocks are interesting pieces, good caves/overhangs!

it isn't too bad!
if it were mine i'd probably play with the powerheads by reconstructing that tall formation in the back right of the tank to disguise one of them.

instead of spread across the tank. Maybe try making two concentrated piles with space in between. It will feel more symmetrical even if they are uneven, if we are actually talking about ocd here.

Just my personal 2 cents - but I prefer non symmetrical aquascape. I generally put rock in one corner going to about a third of the tank, a bit of open sand, and then the final half with more rock. Also consider that as your tank grows, the original scape changes anyhow.

I like the layout. Only thing I might change with the rock work is maybe a few more small covered areas for fish to hide. Personally, I like a clean look with as little equipment showing as possible, so if it were me, I'd streamline the power heads and try to relocate the thermometer and heater.

My opinion is to ditch all those rocks and order some rocks from reefcleaners.org and start from there. Here are some pics of their rock forms. Tang police don't worry about the tangs there just in this tank temporary so my toddler can enjoy looking at them before they move onto the 220 gal tank in storage.

I agree about the PHs... Personally I would put them all about the same level and work towards a X motion with a wave maker... :fish1:

I like the rock formation, nice and open. Maybe a few more secluded caves for the shy fish would be good and some hiding of equipment.

I like that rock. Is the bigger one on the left all one piece?

Appreciate all the feedback. I am always trying to look ahead, sometimes too far ahead. I am trying g to envision where it will be in a year or more. I have re-scaped today.
What do we think?

Still need to dial in power heads. Right now they are all level in height and X- ing across the tank. Pointed slightly upward. Have also re timed the lighting sequence to maybe lessen the silicates and cyanogen bloom.

That is a big improvement. On the right side, I think I would move the center pillar a bit to the right. But it looks good as it is.

I like the redo much better! But it wasn't bad to begin with. I would still play around with the right side a little bit...the overall height of the rocks across the tank is pretty much the same. If you turned that big piece on the right on its side maybe? But it looks good and it's up to you how you like it :)
