My Original GARF Purple Bonsai

Just thought I'd share a picture of my Original GARF Purple Bonsai. When I got it, it was already in RTN. But, after I put it in my tank, it looks like the RTN stopped and it looks like its starting to heal back up! The picture isnt the best, it looks a million times better in person, it still has its nice deep purple. I'll try to take a better picture of it later on. :) Can't wait till it fully recovers, its a pretty darn big colony.

Looking good. Hopefully is 110% in by the end of the year;) I've got 3 small colonies that got partially bleached after putting in better ballast 2 weeks ago...I'm watching them get there color back day by day;)

Thanks! Yeah, I sure hope so! Ah, that sucks. Are GARF Purple Bonsai slow growers?

Gotcha. This is why I thought maybe you did. When I first got back into reefing, after a few years off, I ordered a coral pack from GARF. They sent me one of those Gorgonians. It came all the way from Boise and they grow on the reef 150 yards from where I work in Florida, lol.

LMAO Pretty funny. :p

IME they are a medium grower. I don't have the GARF Purple Bonsai but I consider this acro to be very close. Here's where I got my frag from:

Glad it's recovering for you. I found it to be quite hardy once settled in. I thought mine was dead and gone, but some must have survived, and now I have quite a bit encrusting all over the area.

Thanks! Glad to hear they can be pretty hardy. :)

I would agree that the branches are slightly larger but the angle of that shot does not portray the size very well. I'd say like I said before, like any acro, its going to be a medium grower. I've already got an accidental frag of mine;)

Not IMO. When I had mine in high light it lost a lot of the nice deep bright purple. It is coloring very nicely on the bottom of my tank.

Hmm... Strange, mine seems to look much nicer when I put it higher up in the tank... Maybe its because I have a 150 watt MH?
