I don't feed mine brine shrimp, I was told its primarily for freshwater fish. I would feed Nori every day and once in a while Mysis Shrimp. If it doesn't eat the mysis I wouldn't worry about it, they need Nori!!!
my powderblue didnt eat anything but nori for 3 months so dont worry but after i knew he was fat and healthy i just put less nori in and started feeding a mix of pellets, mysis, and brine flakes soaked in garlic guard to tyr to get him eating... now he will eat anything from pellets to flakes to mysis right out of my hands dont worry just like everyone said just feed nori daily
brine is good for fish if you feed spirulina enhanced brine, if I were you I would try to feed him some bloodworms, spirulina brine, and maybe finely chopped krill, good luck.
hikari frozen spirulina brine was the first thing my pbt's would eat even before nori! also is he alone or in qt and how long have u had him ? if he is readily eating nori then i agree with everyone else he should be fine ! try offering other foods first feeding of the day before giving nori! helps when fish are more hungry to try new things also i think frozen formula 2 is about the best frozen supplement for tangs. it has alot of vitamins and good immune boosting nutrients already in the cubes !
my yellow wouldnot eat anything but nori for aprox 4-5 months, andmore than trippled in size and developed the desired football look..he has finaly started to pick at table shrimp and nibble offlake food that is on the bottom of the tank as others have said if your pbt is eating nori i would not worry about it as he is getting the most naturalfood for him that we humans can provide in quanity
Just out of curiosity, is it risky to feed a tang too much protein? I ask because I used to keep African cichlids from Malawi (mbuna) that were herbivores, and I lived in fear of them eating too much protein and getting bloat.
