My Percs & spawning

I bought my percs a BTA for a present. The female took to it immediately, she will not let the male in it at all. The BTA is very small too. Too small for the both of them. He doesn't travel very far from her when she is in it. I don't know if they have bonded or is he waiting to steal it from her lol.


Ok, opinion time! I think she is ready to bow chicka wow wow with my suga-daddy clown. (God its late). The book im reading is leading me down that road. If so, i do not have cultures setup yet to handle the eggs. What do you guys suggest I do. The tanks are setup but I have not purchased the cultures. Is there anything produced by SF bay or anything else that i can feed them at the larvae stage? I highly doubt it...

Before you ask, I am not done with the Clownfishes book yet. I hope to complete that sometime in the very distant future. I have 3 dogs, 7 cats, 4 fish tanks (1 salt, 3 fresh) and a parrot. I get little to no "me" time.

if you are from the Lancaster, PA region and can help me with the first spawn/culture setup, please let me know, I'd appreciate it.

The Perc also do that "jittering motion" for dominance... the female can do it from the anemone and the male will just curl up.

Mine were doing the dance for almost a year before there were eggs. I would wait till you have eggs before you start any cultures. Unless you want to maintain them till then.

I second that thought, wait until you see eggs (I would wait 2 - 3 spawning cycles) and then go down the road of preparing yourself for the larvae.
