My percula clownfish have hosted my open brain coral. ***!

Any ideas on how to change this over to the two btas I have? I've tried the light method, pictures but not the last method of putting them together in a small container as I can't get my anemones off of the rock.

Can you move the brain coral near the anemones and see if they make the switch? Even so, it's not always possible to control what your clowns will host.

thats not a bad idea...thanks!!! i'll try it

is there any issue with putting open brains that high and on live rock? not sure if their bottoms will be damaged?

also would the bta sting the brain? i'll obviously put it say an inch or two away

heres a picture of where they are currently positioned in comparison to each other

I have the same problem only mine host a large hairy mushroom colony. They completely ignore the RBTA and GBTA. I guess it is what it is

My percula chose a feather duster for months before she found the LTA that was less than a foot away. One day she found the anemone, and in less than half an hour permanently switched.

If you have intense light, I wouldn't put the brain up there. The bottom of the coral will be fine, but with your current rock, I'd be more worried about it falling off. With as little rock you have it might be easier to move the rock your anemones are on. Of course they might move in their own after that. And yes they will sting other corals.

If I've learned one thing over the years it's that Clown fish are individualistic and will do and choose a host that makes no sense to us. Wherever they are comfortable they will live.

Thanks for the advice guys. I ended up putting the brain on the rock next to the nems but it fell of half way through the day so I decided to put it back on the sand in fear of damaging the brain. I guess it is what it is. Just have to let nature take its course....

Worse case I will have to add diesel in as the other suggestion stated. Jk

Make the brain not available for the clowns somehow. Put a basket aound it, get it to another tank for a few days, ..., ...

Tube around the anemone put the clowns in the tube (cut soda bottle etc
Bta are not the natural anemone your clowns host so bta and the brain seem the same to them

I actually saw that on YouTube where somebody used a tube to introduce his percs to the Anenome and it worked. I think I'll try that with a 2 liter bottle and hopefully I don't stress out the perc. Thanks!
