yesterday i noticed a gaping hole in the membrene of my orange plate coral. it was about the size of a dime. now its about the size of a nickel. the coral is in wiht a large maroon clown a velvet damsel, an anemone, a frogspawn, mushrooms, green star polps, and trumpet coral(not exactly sure). they are all in a jbj 12 gallon nanocube.

please help reef central!

Is it close to any other coral so that it might get stung? What kind of inverts do you have in the tank?

Anemone and frogspawn can both be pretty aggresive to other corals, if your plate comes to direct contact it can be zapped by these guys in minutes. Non of your fishes should bother the plate. What's your water parametre? My plate coral has a cycle of loosing tissue and regrow them. Though not as much as a dime size. Neverthless they always recover.

Even if it all dies leave the skeleton in the tank. They are known to regrow tissue months after. They will often pop out with dozens of new polyps
