Hey what salinity did you keep your rotifers at and did you change the salinity in your fry tank or try and keep it the same as your display?

I thought I told told you this sorry if I didn't ,I have the fry tank connected to my main tank water and temperature are the same as the display.
Rotifer water SG 1.020 and I use new water(DI MIX) to replace it

Good luck With them!!!

Please post some pictures of your fry or baby clownfish later I will like to see your set up.

I will I'm about to place these orders...

I already have:
• 10, 20, and 29 gallon tanks for fry
• 5 gallon buckets for rotifers
• 100w heater for fry tank

Reeds mariculture:
• 1 million rotifers
• RGcomplete 6 oz or 16 oz
• 8x8 rotifer floss
• Chroma boost A

Dr. Fosters and Smith:
• Fushion air pump 500 (2 ports)
• 3 sweetwater silica air stones (2-1.5 in & 1-3 in)
• 8 feet of air line tubing
• cheap 50w heater for rotifers

Is there anything on here you see I need for your experience? Learning from a pro. I'll send a pic when I get everything in and going. I also have my salt ready to be mixed for water changes with my rodi. I guess I'll mix an 8 gallon tote for changing out rotifer water each week

I would strongly suggest ordering the 16oz or 32oz RGcomplete depending on how many rotifers you need it can go fairly quickly. lol

i've had better luck with the whisper air filters than the fusion one's also, but lately I have just been useing the cheap air pumps from wal mart and they have worked out well.

I would also order around 25' of airline, it is cheap and you will use alot more than you think.

Do you think everything else looks fine? Ill go with the 16oz RGcomplete and longer tubing. I didn't even think about looking at walmart for pumps. Ill try that. Thanks!!

everything else IMO sounds fine. are you gonna skip the brine shrimp and go stright to dry foods?

I would also suggest running 2 buckets of rotifes just incase 1 crashes you have a spare.

I would also add you your setup: I use the PRO IV

and also:

and last it is always a good idea to have some amquel+ on hand.

hopefully you have extra salt as you do alot of water changes also :D

that filter is only for use after the fry have gone through meta, so put it in your DT sump so it gets seeded. that filter helps keep ammonia levels down.

it works by putting an airstone in the tube and then hooked up to a air pump.

Dont forget this !!!

1-small light for your fry tank
2-coffee filters (for the rotifer)
3- strainer to use with the filter (for the rotifer)
4-extra airline with a pice of hard tubing(this will help you with the cleaning of the fry tank floor.
5- A BIG CUP OF Starbucks coffee to keep up up :bounce2:

RGcomplite

Of you are planing to keep doing this ones or twice I recommend you to get the 32 RGcomplite your be surprise how much this little bugs eat!!!

Yes

Yes

Oh yea i probably need the ammonia badge!

Will that filter suck any of the frys to it or how does that thing work?

Yes it will if you set the air to strong!
It work with air, you can use it but you have to be careful with it yo much air will suck them they will be suck on the foam of the filter now to much air coming out the filter can make your fry to be all over the place and hitting the walls and heater.
For the first 3 days you should only use a airline few bubbles for second that's it.

Haha I can't go a morning without my coffee!! But its night 8 and still not hatched yet. I'm sure they will come tmrw and I really hope they will lay again because I want to try this next batch

Eggs hatched last night and this mornin I shined a light in there to see the fry but I'm guessing my pajama cardinal ate all of them. Only had like 20 but was really hoping to see some but oh well maybe I'll go home to some new eggs

Now did you remember the exact day when the parent lay the egg?
Count the nights and days they will hatch at the same time all the time :)

Laid on Monday and hatched on the following Monday! So on the 8th night. Hopefully they lay on the same rock or PVC I put in and I can't take it out that day right before lights go out. Did I see somewhere on here NOT to run airstone for the first 3 days or am I just seeing stuff?
