Not yet i will here when they all hatch!! Do I need to turn light on now or just try and wait till they all hatch? There are about 10-15 left.

One more question I have it placed up in my spare bedroom and was wondering will the light from the ceiling work?

Just wait a couple if hours them turn the lights on sometimes all the egg don't hatch so don't wait to much because the ones that they did they need food and they can eat if they see it.

I don't think the light of the room will work what ever you do make sure they have to have light from the top not the side

Well there doing fantastic and I literally could sit and watch them for hours! There are so many but I'll post a pic but it's on iPhone and hard to see

That's awesome. I was going to try and raise this batch but my wife gave me the go ahead to upgrade my dt to a 125 so that's where my money is going. Just got the tank an hour ago

Heres my crappy iphone pics :uhoh3: :sad2:

I think they all hatched but where they were on rock looks like a white bubble kind of. So I think some didn't make it out but I really don't see any just laying on the bottom. They are up moving and swimming. I did go buy a lamp from Home Depot tho and some coffee filters to drain the rotifers! So far so good. Fingers still crossed tho! It's the 24 hour mark right now

Hey I gotta question and I'm sure you will know! It's day 2 and a lot of my fry are chilling in the corners of the tank and I was wondering is this normal?

They are also started to look like they are chasing each other when they get close to each other haha

Cleaning bottom

Cleaning bottom

Gotta quick question!! So yesterday i decided i needed to clean my fry tank (day 3). There was a bunch of aglae let over from the rotifers on the bottom where i have been dipping my coffee filter in to feed them. Ok so I wasn't really thinking when i started and i put my 10 gal fry tank sitting on the floor :headwally:

Heres my problem!

Its really hard to siphon water out and I barely got it going but it was so weak! There is still stuff on bottom.

My question???

Can I use my rotifer floss I bought from Reeds to clean the bottom of my fry tank and then just take the water out using a cup?

I will said use the cup.
Do you have the foam filter?
You can use it now tha will help a little bit but the Rotifers are dirty so you have to keep doing your water changes!
Any pic of your fry?

Yea I will keep doing water changes and I will probably just use that floss to wipe down the bottom and sides of the fry tank.

No I don't have a foam filter yet.

After they go through Meta could I use a power filter or would they get sucked up into it?

You could also use a turkey baster to get the algae at the bottom then squirt it into the cup or a clear rubbermaid food container and check for any accidental fry suck up

Great idea! I'll probably use that and if I cant get it all then I'll use the floss.
