But this afternoon I saw for the first time the baby clowns actually eating the rotifers!! They are also getting orange bellies and starting to bend their tails more frequently. Tmrw will be day 8 and was wondering when they actually tart going through meta and when to feed OTA A?

Equipment:
-10 gallon fry tank
-100w Heater (80-81 F)
-Air Pump (wal-mart)
-8 feet clear tube (wal-mart)
-2 air stones (from wal-mart) (one going fry tank and other going to bucket)
-5 gallon bucket for rotifers (filled about 4 gallons up)
- Round clip on lamp (Home-depot) with regular light bulb
- Coffee Filters (wal-mart) to pour rotifers in it and dip into fry tank.
-Rotifer Floss 8x8 (Reeds Nutrition)
-Black construction paper on all sides

Food:
-1 Million Rotifers (Reeds Nutrition) Dont harvest them until about the 3rd day so get them going way before eggs hatch I screwed up there and only had them the day before. Made it till about day 11 and ran out. I feed them 3 times a day dipping 2 coffee filters at each feeding. (6 coffee filters a day usually does it)
- RGComplete for rotifers (Reeds Nutrition) Squirt about 5 good squirts in there twice a day or until water gets a good Olive Color.
- TDO Chroma Boost "A" (Reeds Nutrition) I started this on day 10 and they pick at the surface at the food. I will feed them this for awhile with the few rotifers I have left.

Maintenance:
1) Pre-Hatch put 2 coffee filters of rotifers in tank, then I took the rock out of DT and placed in fry tank and turned off lights.
2) 1 hour later 3/4 of them hatched so i turned light on with 2 pieces of white paper covering the top so it was that much light to shock them. (kept light on for 3 days)
3) Day 3 Started doing water changes on fry and rotifers the same day. Took about 20% out while vacuuming the bottom of the fry tank. Same with rotifer bucket and I used the floss to wipe the side and bottom out.
4) I'm Doing step 3 everyday now.

Fry Tank: Day 11 so far and have around 50+ fry still
-1.026 salinity
-80-81 F
-Started around 4 gallons and I add a lil more every water change
-Blacked out on all sides with black construction paper

Rotifer Bucket:
-5 Gallon bucket but I only use 4 gallons
-Add RGComplete 2 times a day
-Clean it out daily and water change the same time I change fry tank water
-NO heater for me just room temp (72F)

Water Changes:
-I do 20% daily after the 3rd day.
-Wipe sides and bottom of fry and bucket with floss.
-Vacuum the stuff off bottom and floating
-I used new salt water at a salinity of 1.017 to start rotifer culture and added my DT water to it when doing water change ( I know it brought up the salinity but it was alright)
- Used DT water to start fry tank water
-I change out 8 gallons a week in my DT and I use that left over water that comes out of my DT to use during water changes to my fry and rotifer bucket.

:jester: Thats about it any questions please fell free to ask.

Don't rely on that air pump, at the very least get a backup.

I had the exact same one and it crapped out on me when I needed it the most.

I love this thread and continue to look forward to updates. Good job.

Baby clowns love the nems I did that with mine when they where about 3 months old one took to it right away while the others took a little while but they all ganged up on the poor little nem needless to say the nem did not last. Now they are 8 months old and I put another larger nem in there with them for the ones that I have left and they are all loving it.
By the way great thread keep it up.. Post pictures we all love pictures and vids too..
