My Pump Failed last night

I have 3 powerheads in the tank to keep the water moving.

How long have I got to get a new circulation pump in place?

What else should I be worried about?

Thanks!
Jeff

All 3 powerheads??? Or the control for the powerheads???
MJ or ????
Return pump is working ok right???
Need more info?????

I believe his main pump failed and he has powerheads in the tank to keep water moving. Id say get a new pump ASAP. Id say the biggest battle is going to be temp. As long as its a fairly decent size tank and you have surface agitation, you should be alright for quite some time.

Sorry...let me clarify. Tank is 55 gallons.

My return pump (Little Giant 2-MDQ-SC) failed, so nothing is going through my sump.

I'm running 3 poweheads in the tank to keep the water moving.

I do have nother pump around, but the inlet/outlet sizes are different....

u should be fine. I leave my fishes in the bin for 6wks with one MJ 1200, no problem at all.

i would order the pump from MD or buy if from a LFS and get it swapped out ASAP...

Don't panic; you've got plenty water movement for a short term situation. Just keep an eye on O2 aeration and pH until the new pump arrives. If you have a cheapo HOB skimmer, you might want to put that on temporaily just for aeration.

Jeff,
Use one of your powerhead to circulate
Buy a cheap rio backup pump
I have a spare if you want to borrow or buy?

Jeffrey,
I have a spare (Mag Drive 5, 0.5" fit), if you want to borrow?
We can meet after 8:30 PM (San Gabriel Valley)

Thanks everyone....since the Mag-Drive pumps aren't terribly expensive and have the same fittings, I'll probably go with that option.

I wonder if the Mag-Drive 7 is too much?

Check your pump curve, head loss, see it fit your requirement (turn over time, capacity of your overflow...)or not?
You will borrow mine or go to buya new one?
