My purple macroalgae

Don't know what it is, but I love it True purple color, in higher light the new growth tips are almost white.

My violet dreams macroalgae that I bgouth from someone on reefcentral grows like that in some portions of my tank with the white tips.

Believe it is a Carpopeltis sp.

How so? Doesn't look like the few images online of that macro.

Growth pattern/shape. I'm going by books. Quit trusting online pics a long time ago.

Check pg 92 of South Pacific Reef Plants by Littler. Pg 92 is a C. maillardii which this one is not but growth is similar. I referenced a couple of other books(at the office and forgot the names) which contain different Carpopeltis species and similar traits are there.
