Growth pattern/shape. I'm going by books. Quit trusting online pics a long time ago.
Check pg 92 of South Pacific Reef Plants by Littler. Pg 92 is a C. maillardii which this one is not but growth is similar. I referenced a couple of other books(at the office and forgot the names) which contain different Carpopeltis species and similar traits are there.
