This tang was like this when I purchased him. He was at a LFS in a 1' by 1' box for about a month and a half, no joke, it was sad. Everytime I went in this LFS to get some hermits, food, etc., I saw him sitting there. This Purple Tang had this look to him the whole time he was there. I saw that his fins were a bit "weathered", but I imagined this was from being in a really SMALL living quarter.
So what I did was purchased the poor guy. I do not know what HLLE is and if it is contagious or some kind of skin pigmentation virus. Im sorry you guys will have to explain that to me. I understand that my tank is small for this guy but I just thought I could do the little tang a favor and put him in a suitable envrionment so he wouldn't have to suffer and maybe pass away in a "shoebox filled with water".
My water parameters are:
Sal. 1.022
Ph ~8.1
Phosphate - 0ppm
Nitrate - 0ppm
Nitrite - 0ppm
Ammonia - 0ppm
I have been feeding him Ocean Nutrition Veggie Clips (green marine algae), Hikari Ocean Plankton, Hikari freeze dried brine shrimp, and some Formula Two Herbivore flakes.
As for vitamin supplements will you please refer me as to what to do for him.
Is this curable? Because I would love to help him.
Thanks everyone.
