What do u pat process with photoshop?

I use Lightroom for most of my post processing. If there is something special I need to do for a photo then I do it in Photoshop but most of what I do is done in Lightroom.

Is Lightroom easier for converting raw images and photo editing that photoshop

I believe it is. It is more directed toward photographers because it makes it really easy to keep everything together, organized, and do editing for most needs. It can import and export many different kinds of files including RAW and everything. It makes it super easy to adjust basic exposure and contrast levels as well as adjust saturation or add vignettes. However, it can't really do mask layers as well as Photoshop and it doesn't have nearly the amount of image editing that Photoshop has.

I currently use elements not the full cs5 or 6 version of photoshop so I was wondering if I should upgrade to Lightroom 4 instead of photoshop being that it is cheaper

If you're planning on doing a lot of photography then you will definitely get more use out of Lightroom, however if you need to do graphic or image design then you should get Photoshop.

Most of what you can do in Light room can also be done in photoshop/elements (except for photo organization) however Lightroom brings all the most common photo editing tools and simplifies the process.

Thank you I will be upgrading to Lightroom 4

Make sure you watch some videos on youtube showing the basics of Light Room so you know what you are getting and are slightly familiar with it. The program can seem slightly confusing at first but once you find your workflow it all comes pretty easily.

Yes.

I've owned and used Elements, Photoshop and Lightroom. I started using Photoshop in the 90s. I now use Lightroom mostly and PS when I need to do more advanced image editing, like cutting things out or adding things, such as a Santa beard to a clownfish, for example.

Not only is Lightroom less expensive than Photoshop, but its workflow has been tuned to the needs of the typical photographer versus digital artist, and as such is easier to use, super organized, and all changes are tracked and nondestructive, meaning your original photo is not altered. And it's super easy to open an image and make an additional tweak without having to start over with editing it.

Mongo like.

I have both Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom 3 and I rarely if ever use Photoshop, Lightroom is great. I suggest the Scott Kelby book on Lightroom, great tips and easy read... I bought if for my Kindle for $10 or so, money well spent.

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback, it really makes me want to keep trying new things. So, with that said, here is my attempt at focus stacking 16 images to try to get a pinpoint accurate representation of the whole dime, along with 4 pyramid snails that I just brushed off of my crocea clam:

Earlier today I noticed my Tailspot Blenny hiding in a new place. He decided to cuddle up under my Rainbow Acans and I went to grab my camera for a quick shot.

He was only there for a second so I didn't have time to get a great shot:
