Thank you for your comments guys!
I'm really hoping their behavior continues. I wanted to post because I read so many people having problems and not many success stories it was pretty discouraging. I've learned with this hobby anything can happen so I decided to give it a shot. I'm really hoping (based on reading, not prior experience) that the Emperor's tastes do not change as he switches to an adult, or as he grows larger in general as he is pretty small right now.
I was also expecting some issues with the sailfin tang when I added the purple tangs, along with worried about issues with the purple tangs together (even though I added them at the same time) but they all get along great. Same with the blue.
It has taken two years to get to this point, starting with a 10 gallon nano but has been very rewarding!

my goal for this summer is to get the calcium reactor setup and doing more research on kalk/2parts/etc. The SPS are getting to the point where I'm pretty sure that is my limiting factor. I feel like my system has finally gotten to the point where I want it to be. There is no nuisance algae, the fish are healthy, the corals are booming, everything seems to have settled in. In fact I'm using this tank to seed dry rock for my Dad and best friend.
Almost all of the corals started as small frags. The zoas were just a couple polyps and the SPS were all ~1-1.5" (with exception to the birdsnest you see a lot of towards the base in the second pic, that was a ~8" frag that had some aiptasias in it, I ended up fragging it out). So far being able to keep and see the growth has been the most exciting part, along with everything else going well. Being able to keep some of my favorite fish has been really cool. Now I need to stop trying to break the reef keeping rules haha.
It is really fun having friends over and the interest they take.
