My RO/DI is finally here

So my RO unit arrived today i cant wait to get home and set it up after work and start getting some good clean water. im going to flush the syatem tonight after work and start filling my water tank tonight. I will make salt mix thursday morning so it will be ready friday. I used tap water to fill the tank initially and have beed using tap to top it off. so i am sure there is plenty of stuff in the water i dont want.

I am wondering how much water can I safely change at one time?

as long as the parameter of the make up water matches closely with the tank water, you can go as much as 50%

Did you do anything to remove the chlorine or chloramine before adding to your tank?

i just got my RO/DI tonight too. got mine up and running already. I also set my tank up with tap water and ive been getting algea outbreaks. so hopefully this will fix my problem doing a 50% water change this weekend. good luck

I made sure to get the carbon that removes chlorine and chloramine. I also plan on letting the water age over night to off gas the Cl as well as come to temp and make sure the salinity is good
