My Rod Onyx Pair; How would their color be?

Hello guys,

I bought my Onyxes 2 years ago, when they were as tiny as 1/2 inch.
Are they getting "that" color or they will be something else?

The color of your fish now is the final color of these Onyx. They are in a Gigantea which does not cause fade of color, and at 2 years old they are mature fish and will not gain anymore color.

Your yellow tang is really out of place among these expensive fishes

thats their final color i believe. they do take a while to get all their black, and might possibley get a little more darker, but doubtful. but you have a beautiful pair of clowns and the other fish for that matter.

i got 2 pairs of Rods Onyx and one female is like yours and i have a pairs thats almost completely jet black all over with minimal orange. they vary alot.

OrionN, yes the yellow tang is a regular Joe but it’s been with me 7 years, my wife loves him most.

GSMguy, the Efflo was getting too big, I had to move it. ( Almost 3’x3’)

Jbax, sorry, I don’t have any pics when they were small.

Jt_milstead, the tank looks small in the picture because its depth. It’s 5’x4’x2’ tall.

By the way, they've been cleaning a rock for a week now. will the female lay eggs soon?
