I have had this rbta for over a year and today It split. I was gardening and happened to come in and walk by the tank. Luckily I cought it in the act. I snapped a few pictures, it was over in about an hour. It was on the glass so I got a good view. Hope you enjoy them! : )

Yes, I have been waiting for this to happen for a long time. It was front and center in the tank for a year. Suddenly a couple of months ago it started moving from 1 side of the tank to the other. I tested and tested, figured somthing was off. I finally got my answer. The 2 halves have moved close together and have closed up. My clowns are snuggling in it again and all is good. This has been a wonderful day. : )

It's just one of those things that happened by chance. Having an anemone split on the glass, how often does that happen? To witness it was awesome. I am very happy to share this with all of you, my reef central friends. My tanks, corals, fish and anemones are a passion not many around me share. It is great to share with those who feel the same way. My friends and family think I am crazy to get so excited by a mushroom, zoa, or anemone reproducing. Here on reef central I am normal because we are all crazy. : )

As of today it has been 8 days. Due to it's position on the glass I cannot see the mouths of either. If I could see that the mouth was reformed I'd try to feed. I plan to wait another week and then try something small such as mysis. I have been searching for some basic guide to amount of time to wait for healing but even that would be subjective, each heals at it's own rate. I am thinking it should be at least a couple weeks or longer. I will keep updating their progress. : )

Great pictures, awesome to see how it splits. Nice looking anemone too!

Sunday my RBTA split, four times and I didn't get one picture!

I must say it's exciting, I have had my anemone for about three months. I wonder what it is that make them split and split ...

Really coop pics of the split, any recent pictures?

Hey bro what you need pictures for , just stop by. You know they love when grandpa mema comes to visit. Bring them some little fishies, they're hungry.
