My sailfin tang I have had for about 2 months. He had ich when I first got him I tried catching him but it was impossible so I just left him in their so life can take its course but after a month the ich went away and the other day I tried to install protein skimmer and I guess I scared him a bit now he looks a bit pail sometimes but not all the time and he has a couple white dots. Can it go away on its own? Cause I thats pretty much what I did last time he also eats normal and I put in garlic extreme and feed him good food. Can he fight it off without me having to take it out and also I am not exactly sure if it is ich cause ich is really small white dots but these are small and medium size but idk. Please comment and help thanks.

Also about his color looks find just pail at night but other than that its just the little-medium white dots. He also swims normal, he likes to swim in one general area when I feed he zips all over the tank like a feeding frenzy. When he did have ich when I first got him he still ate really good so if he keeps eating good could he survive right?
Ick can look as if it is gone, but it still is there. It will come back when water conditions change, or the fish gets stressed or whenever. There are lots of threads on here about ick, I suggest you read them. I suggest you start here:

If he had ich while in your display tank, your display tank has ich.
