My Sanjay Photons

Sandy when do you start the four day count for the meta phase? Do you count the day/night when they hatch or start the count on the following day?
 
Wow these are nice ,so you have a pair from the same batch?? The darwin x onyx?? If so those are from the first n only batch of that mix he only sold like less than 80 photons I have a female she's from the first batch she's about 3yr+ now sea n reef copied the mixture n are producing them now. Good luck looking good.

We have two batches of babies now...I let the 3rd go because I'm out of tank space for now, plus I was running too low on rotifers for my now 3 batches of babies (2 Photons & 1 Ocellaris)....
The Photons are acting like they are going to spawn in the next day or so... :thumbsup:
I will have my rotifers supply increased to two buckets and more tanks next week...

The babies are so big and are doing very well...
I will take a video in the next day or so....
 
Looking good! That's an amazing amount of black considering they are only 19 DPH. The Black and White heritage must really be responsible for that. I know my Onyx take almost half a year for their black to show (I have a batch that hatched on xmas and they aren't showing any body black yet at 3 months). It's obvious they share the development rate of occys which is lightyears faster than percs. Keep the updates coming!

Yes, sandy has them here. :-)

I lost all of the ones I was raising, to a bad disease that went through the grow out tank. I very first of these that I did were sent to LiveAquaria. They may have sold them by now.

I am now raising a batch of snowflake black photons.

Interestingly this black that you see in the early babies, tend to go away as they grow older and turn mostly orange. Then the black comes back again as they grow older, and keeps getting darker with age.

I am surprised these have not turned more black already. These are still quite young to breed. Females need to be around 2 years, males can spawn at 9 months.
 
Sanjay, are you using TDO or Otohime? From earlier posts it looks like the OP is using Otohime which has a lower astaxanthin level.

Lately I have been using the AP breed stuff, so that is TDO, right ?
