First.. take a big deep breath! You have at least a few weeks before he'll release any fry. Then, not all apparent pregnancies are real pregnancies. Sometimes the males are flushing their pouches.. fill them with water and release, to show females what they're capable of and as part of the mating ritual. A big pouch doesnt always indicate eggs, if it lasts for a few more days, and the horse has no buoyancy problems, then you can expect its a real pregnancy. Course.. if you saw the mating dance then you'd already know that.
You may want to check the FAQ stickie for ideas on setting up nurseries and also check the two main seahorse boards.. syngnathid.org and seahorse.org for further information. The people there know their stuff and there are lots of first time fry raisers who can give you tidbits and help. The breeders forum here may also be of help, there are a couple of guys who have worked with seahorses previously. Fredfish, an RC member, may also have some great links.. I hope he sees this.
Good luck! And remember, raising the fry is not easy, its definitely a long learning curve. If you dont feel up to it you should get in touch with the local WAMAS club in SLC, there is a very nice lady in that club who has lots of seahorse fry experience and would be happy to help you out I'd think with setting up the tanks, or even might take the first batch of fry if you dont want to attempt raising them yet.
