My skimmer sucks....

get the ASM , i had the Remora and its impossible to clean the chamber, it releases micro bubbles back into your tank, and to me i think its louder (has a high hissing sound), i bought the skim overflow box as well, it needs constant adjusting to perfect, switched to ASM, not one complaint!!

I have a lightly used (1 month) AquaC EV-120 for sale. It has the extra John Guest fitting for Ca reactor or ozone connection, a Mag 5 and all hoses and connectors. Skimmer works great, just too big for my sump (took up nearly the whole thing!). $250 OBO.

Wow, it took up the whole sump? What are you using for a sump a size 6 shoe box? That skimmer has a footprint of 4.75" x 8.5". That is smaller than the smallest Euroreef

I have a 75g corner with a stand by KC. Apparently it is smaller than the standard footprint inside. My sump is a custom CFL that I got from Reefgeek and it had to be cut down further to fit the smaller than normal KC stand. In the end, it is about 17" long, 18" high and 12"wide. Of the 17" in length, nearly 1/2 is taken up by the return and sponge bubble trap. Don't forget that the footprint of the EV-120 is not the whole story. The gate valve sticks out quite a bit and can't be obstructed, making the footprint about 9 x 9 . The pump has to fit somewhere as does the filter sock. I got everything to fit but there was no extra space at all. In fact, the mag 5 sat under the filter sock. I took out the EV-120 and put in a Tunze 9010 which fits much better and works at least as well. The Tunze pump is much quieter than the Mag 5 as well. If no one wants the EV-120, I will keep it as a spare....
