Hey Ape,
I have bought a couple that weren't 100% healthy and have had mixed experiences with that. Some just continue to get worse and slowly disappear while others slowly got better. I have a spot in my tank where I put some of the ones that need to heal up first. It wide open and has low flow and I can easily put something overtop the tank to shield the light from it.
I like the blasto that you have. It has nice coloration to it. As far as the picture of the blasto at your LFS that is a really nice piece. There could be a bunch of reasons why it might not look so happy there. The tissue around the base of each polyp looks pretty healthy and it doesnt appear to have any breaks in it, as well as the mouths aren't gaping either.
But blastos can be finicky at times so it could really go either way.
